I was making a steering stop today and thought I'd post some pic's on how I would make one. I don't know if these are available or not. but this is easly done with a hack saw, a drill and files or grinder. I started with a piece of 1.750 roll bar tubing with a .1875 wall since it was a curve to start with it made the whole job easer.

this is the roll bar tubing
Attachment 3787
now we have layed it out where to cut
Attachment 3788
I drill two small holes to make the corner cuts easer
Attachment 3789
Now it's saw time, you might want to use a new blade so it doesn't walk on you
Attachment 3790
here's the roughed out part
Attachment 3791
after a little shaping
Attachment 3792
almost there I'll add the last pic tommorow
Hope this helps some members.:D

Hello,
Can anyone tell me what the heli coil number is for the spark plug on a trail 70
I guess the threads are 10 mm, but I did not know what the other number is.
Thanks,
Ranger

On a scale of 1 to 10 ( 10 = take it to a shop ), how hard is it to rebuild 4 speed manual clutch and replace springs??
Bike is 1970 trail 70.
I replaced the piston, rings, and head and consider this a level 4 ( relatively easy ). How hard is clutch in comparison?
I am afraid of tackling the clutch for some reason.:39:
Opinions?

I have different intakes and some seem to have a angle to them where the carb mounts so it wouldn't sit level for the float to work properly, does the ct all use the same intakes.now another question,I cant remember which way the bushing that the needle seats to in the carb body pushes out,top or bottom.does the smaller hole on the bushing go up or down referencing the carb. Thanks in advance:preggers:

I have ordered my Candy Gold paint kit, and striped all the peripherals from the frame. Next step is to drop off everything at the paint shop.

I blasted them with glass and I believe they're ready for PC. My Father-in-law is taking a sprint car chassy to the powder coater soon and he's gonna help me get them done.
Looking for a little advice here :4: I know there are some experienced folks out there that can help me out.
I'm a painter and this is my 1st time with PC.:39: FIL says the guy uses rally wheel silver to do them. Looks a little dark to me. Is there a color name or # that matches Cloud Silver? How do the hubs take the heat with the steel sleeves? They need to be the same color.
Any do's and dont's would be appreciated.

I posted this in the modification area but thought I'd ask here. Is the steering stop being reproduced by anybody? The weld on stop under the frame head?
Mike
I think I found my answer went I searched, no one makes one.
Thanks, Mike
