The first Honda Trail Bike

Monday, January 4th, 2010
This is a very early honda I just picked up. It is a 1961 C100T which is the first honda trail bike. It is amazingly complete and the only thing wrong is the front fender (not supposed to have one). Notice the straight pipe with no muffler :), that is something that changed very quick after importing these to the U.S.

1974 XL70 was this street legal?

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009
Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew if the 1974 xl70 was street legal back in the day? Is there a steet legal federal label or code on them or something? Does the CT70 have a federal label on it? I'm in the process of making mine street legal, but I got a letter back from the state saying I couldn't register it unless it has a federal label that states it is for road use. Somewhere around the seat I guess. mine doesn't have it, but neither do I think any of the CT70s and I have my 70 registered.

Thanks in advance!

Jimmy

How does customizing effect value on CT90

Thursday, December 10th, 2009
I have a CT90 that I customized by painting everything a dull black. I also added a cm91 motor that I had lying around (only had 100 miles on it...funny story). All of the parts that looked bad I replaced with new.

What did that do the the sellability of the bike and its value?
Here is a pic of what it started off like. I will add a pic later of what it is now.

st90 kick start shaft question

Monday, November 30th, 2009
Hello,
Can anyone tell me if the kick start shaft is the same for a ct 90 and a st 90??
The ct is a 1968 and the st is a 1974. My buddy and I started working on the motor, for his ST last Saturday. Most of the motor looks pretty good, but the starter shaft is very worn. We thought we would use the one from the ct motor if it was the same.
Many thanks to anyone that can help.

Help with my CF70

Friday, November 6th, 2009
Hello I am new here and thought I would post in the ST70 section as this is very close to my Chaly (CF70) which I bought to restore back in July. I have now fully restored the bike very close to original apart form the colour as I dont like yellow much.

This is how the bike looked when I collected it from Halifax

Now the restoration has started

As you can all see the bike is looking great but I have a problem with the electrics,

1. The battery (brandnew) does not charge very well from the the bike and the coil that runs the headlight etc really killes the engine (like a misfire) when the lights are turned on. I thought this might have meen the rectifier but I have fitted a new one and its still the same, any help please?
