1975 Honda CT70… Whats it worth?Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 What would a 1975 Honda CT70 be worth? It has about 600 miles on it, all original and in excellent condition.
-Steve Is there a specific color to paint the Rims?Sunday, March 7th, 2010 Huy Sports fans, I noticed a lot of you have painted and restored your stock rims. After buying aftermarket rims that looked great and preformed horribly, I've decide to restore my stock wheels. Whats the name of the color Honda used for the 1970 KO?? On my Mustang they use a lot of Gun Metal Gray, but a vintage Ct? Any tried and true method would be appreciated.
Also is it easy to split the rims to get the tire off? Never tried that and I want to save money and dont want to pay the motorcycle shop to remove my tires. Thanks! :pop2: Is this a 72 HK or HK1?Sunday, March 7th, 2010 Is there any way to tell from this photo if this is the 1972 3-speed HK model or the 4-speed HK1?
Deal or No Deal… 1977 CT70K3 for $650Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 I found this guy who has 1977 CT70 for sale. He said it was a K3 with a little over 2000 miles on it. He has repainted it, so it is not the original color, but everything else is in excellent condition. Im not sure if he put the right decals on it for the year, but i figure the paint and decals i can change. Is this a good deal for $650? Thanks!!!
CT70KO point cover polished?Sunday, February 28th, 2010 Spent the day blowing the dust off an old 3 speed sapphire blue, bike I have. Was detailing the engine, and getting ready to start a rebuild of the front wheel hub, while I wait for some more carb parts to come in....
Was wondering if someone can tell me if the removable (as opposed to single piece cover) point cover was polished when new? Seen a few restorations that polished this. Would like to to keep it close to OEM (but have no intentions to make this a trailer queen). Appreciate your help I think I have a referenceSaturday, February 27th, 2010 My father came down to visit and we took a ride on my CT. He said he knows someone who lives in WV who collects old hondas. I believe he collects old 90's. If there is anyone out there who is or knows someone who collects old hondas, reply to this post and let me know if this phenomenon of Old hondas stretches as far as I think it does, on this site. Again, if you live in WV, give me your first and last initial to see if you know my father, so I can laugh. I bet we have mutual friends.
One Arm Rider: Modification Required, Need Opinions!Thursday, February 25th, 2010 I have a right hand that doesn't work. I was going to stick with the automatics however I found a really cool Z50 and the guy installed a brand new Zongshen 110 cc engine with a 4 speed manual.
I normally just reverse the throttle on an automatic however the throttle must be twisted forward instead of turning back to the rider. Naturally with the 4 speed I now have a clutch and a throttle to control with only one hand. I was thinking of installing a thumb throttle to replace the twist throttle since it would force me to let off on the gas when shifting. Anyone Have Any Ideas???? I just picked it up yesterday so I haven't rdden it but with the 110 cc motor this sucker must fly! new with a question on paintWednesday, February 24th, 2010 Hi folks- been sneaking around this site for some time and figued I should join.
I have a 70 ct70 3 speed that I have owned since the late 70's. Decided that now with the kids in college, that dad needed something to do, and hay, cant think of anything better then to get the bike back on the road. My plan is to 1) get the bike running, 2) clean recondition one thing at a time and perhaps, when its all good, tear it down and paint it. I just got the first of what I am sure will be many visits from the brown truck. The first visit, brought a new plug, new air filter, new dry (?) battery, new points, new head lamp bulb, new lens cover, carb rebuild kit and a little bit of flash- a chrome engine guard. Found my old manual, and , well lets say some of the chapters are still good. So while I wait for a new one wanted to paint and polish the wheels and check the breaks. Had read that Duplicolor WP316 was a good alternative for to the honda paint. Problem is, WP316 is no longer made. Anyone have experence with the new wheel paints? Are the colors still close? Looking forward to a sloooow re build and your help- but hay its only time, and when I want to ride I got a 1500 to scratch the itch... yamaha champ looks almos like a ct70Monday, February 22nd, 2010 anyone herd of a yamaha champ? looks just like a ct70 but yamaha. anyone ever tryed putting a honda engine on one of them?
Is This Bike Legitimate?Monday, February 22nd, 2010 I know it is not a good image but generally speaking is this a 72?
I don't remember the decals but I don't remember a lot of stuff. |
