What age is appropriate to let kids ride

Hi folks

I know that a lot of factors come into play, but I was just wondering
how some went about it and what results were had.I have a daughter who will be 10 yrs old come spring, and a son who will be 8 years old come spring. I am itching to let them go ( don't want to be killed by the wife though) but if they fall, they may not want to get back on for a while.
My sons feet don't get anywhere near the ground, so I guess that would be the first pre-requisite eh.

Did everyone see the gold KO that ended for $3150.00 on the Bay.Appeared to be a really clean bike, but i was surprised to see it bring that much with the 1400 miles on it.
Hopefully prices keep rising.:41:

Newbie with a 69 CT70 carb question

Sunday, November 16th, 2008
Hi

Got a great deal this week and couldn't pass it up. Bike is in great shape and starts on the first kick. Problem is that the bike will run with choke on but when i turn the choke off the bike revs up as if the throttle is pegged. I cleaned the card and the low speed jet was clogged. I fixed that and carb seemes to function correctly but has zero throttle control. Did I miss something when i assembled it? Cable is connected and the needles moves up and down. I'm stumped. I'm told it should have a Type I carb but this appears to be a Type III. It has 7HA on the flange. Not sure if the carb is right. Note: after i first cleaned the carb the throttle worked as designed but the jet got clogged after it ran for about 3 minutes. After I disassembled the carb and cleaned it again is when the trouble started. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Glad to be part of the forum. I had one of these when I was a kid. Now my daughter has one!!

Thanks

Frank

My new CT70……..

Saturday, November 15th, 2008
I just picked this blue one up at a very reasonable price. It's a 4 speed conversion. From what I can tell it's a 72 3spd body with a 72 4 spd engine. It is painted to look like a 71 & has an early muffler & tail light. Even though it's not original someone did a really nice job on it. The bike had been sitting many years but with a carb cleaning & new battery it runs like a champ & all the electrics work:

Here is my 75 'mighty green' I actually ride this one to work now & then as I am only a few miles away.:monkey:

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008
Ok, this ongoing issues with forks is really Umm.. tickin' me off.

Actully, can u guys tell me: What DID I buy eBay Motors: honda trail CT70 front forks no reserve (item 170274921289 end time Nov-02-08 07:43:05 PST)

So.. does anyone have a set of forks to sell or mabey I can get a link to some reputable site.
