Hi all i have a 1980ct70 and theres a black wire coming from the coil pack where does this wire go to.also might be a dumb ? but where is the points on this bike??? thanks steve

I picked up a DAX today....this kinda luck never happens to me.

Dude's rollin by and sees the mini's in my garage...starts choppin it up and says i got a red one like that in my garage but it doesnt run...i said you wanna sell it...he said yah, i need cash....i followed him home...he opens up the garage and starts throwin boxes...underneath was this DAX....gave the guy some cash and loaded it up....got it home and tore the carb apart and gave it the ol 1-2....took out the tank cleaned it...put in some gas and it fired right up....this thing hauls ass for a 70....1500 miles and in great original shape....it's gonna clean up nice.

Whats the deal with the shift patern...seems like 1 up 2 down ?

Did these DAX models have a different cam...why is it so strong ?

Why did they lower the front fender ?

Front fender has a white stripe on the tip...is that stock ?

I am having a hard time finding a carburetor rebuild kit for my 1970 CT70 KO. Anyone know of a good supplier? Ebay hasnt turned up anything for my year unless I am missing something.

Hi all, this is my first, of many to come, post about my 1970 Honda CT70. The bike has been sitting at my dads home for probably close to 15 years without being started. I learned to ride this little bike many moons ago when I was about 12. I am 40 now and have a 8 yr old daughter that wants to learn to ride so my journey now begins. I ride a XR250R and hopefully in time she will be learning on the old 70.

The bike is gonna need some cleaning up, carb work, rechroming or new chrome parts, tires, wheel clean up, the list goes on. It wont get new paint until after my girls learns to ride. I predict some spills, lol. The good news is after about 20 kicks the old 70 fired up and ran for about 10 secs before giving in to the old tarnished fuel in the carb. So as I begin my journey to get the old bike respectable and rideable I need to get a manual to help me out. I have been looking at different manuals on ebay and I have come down to two choices. Do I go with the Clymers service manual that covers many models and years or go with one of the reproduction Honda service manuals for my year specific? Is one better than the other in terms of photos and descriptions?

After searching more I found the online free versions of the Honda Manual which I downloaded so if I do decide to get a manual I will get the Clymers to have a second source. Still would like to hear from those of you with the Clymers, are you happy with it?

Planning to put my CT70H on the road just for crusing around town on the back roads. How many of you guys have you bike on the road with insrance? Is the insurance expensive?

I am looking for a temporary(inexpensive) Handle Bar and Controls solution as I search out(and can afford) more original solutions.

These could be used for future projects just to get things up and running.

Maybe I am way off base here - Please feel free to give me a Gibb's Slap as a reality check.
