K0 - Rear view mirror:

Friday, February 26th, 2010
I was wondering what people have done for rear view mirror mounts. I have found pics of bikes with mirrors, but the angle doesn't show the mount. Some of the later models came with mirrors right? I am thinking of a bar end mirror. I want something to look clean, and kind of factory or stockish, or at least removeable.

1) bar end mirror
2) additional clamp on handlebar
3) modified pivit screw on brake lever?
4) different handlebar mounts and bar? (no way for me)
5) any other options?

any pics?

I am getting ready to start my 3 speed to 4 speed conversion on my k3. I have complete 4 speed trans setup the gears, shift fork, and drum already. my question is how long should this take me? what else should I tackle on the motor while I have it apart? what else do I need to purchase to have everything for the swap?

thanks for any replies!! any tips and pointers welcome I have never had one of these engines apart and will take all the info I can get.

Renewing an SL70 Clutch Question

Sunday, February 7th, 2010
I traded 2 - 12 volt / 7AH fire alarm batteries for an SL 70. (Frame #SL70 1077595 / Engine #CT70E 201031.

The engine seems to have a 3-sp transmisson, right?

It has the semi - auto clutch that needs to be rebuilt or replaced. (Just like everything else on the bike. More about that later.)

I'm building this bike for my 2 young nephews, ages 12 and 9.

Should I rebuilt this or replace it with an after market assembly?

Any thoughts about converting to a manual? These children have never ridden a motorcycle before.

motor city inverted forks?

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010
well i have fallen in love with my ct70. Now with 125cc engine and street tires. But i want more! the stoping power of the drum brakes is not very confidence inspiring for a new rider such as myself. I want to give this ct the best suspension i can give it and the best brakes possible. there is also a local go kart track that allows bikes and that is the ultimate goal.

so are these forks the best i can get? mated with some good rear shocks would that be about the best setup i could get?

Parts Motor City Mini Trails

the only other options seems to be the nice front end. but it looks like it would cost almost as much in the end and you don't get the coolness factor. and i searched a few forums and only found 1 guy who bought them but the post never tells how they ride?

i know some people have them out there. any help would be great

Will It Fit?

Does anyone know if this engine will fit in a CT70 K2? Has anyone used this engine? Is any modifications necessary to fit it into the frame?

Thanks,

Steven
