4 speed stator original or newSunday, August 22nd, 2010 I've got an H motor that is missing the coils and flywheel. Actually it's a basket case bike missing a few parts. Anyway, if I went with the upgrade, do the 6V CDI kits put out enough power to brighten the lights? If not, which 12V is the one to go with? Plug and play, and only switch bulbs, or go all the way? I want to make the right decision the first time.
With the resources available here, how does a guy screw up? Has anyone changed over to tapered fork bearings and which kit is best?Friday, August 20th, 2010 I was thinking of changing out the steering ball bearings for the tapered type.
How beneficial is the mod and which kit is best, the one from Dr ATV ("All Balls" brand with seals) or the one from CHP? What else would I need to complete this mod besides the bearings and races? The "All Balls" DrATV set comes with the seals and I am not sure if the CHP one does. Besides the seals that come with the DrATV set would I also need the "Blue" colored dust seal that they sell? Any tips about performing this mod would be most grateful! :39: Thanks! ...Glenn :) stroker motorThursday, August 19th, 2010 was wondering if any 1 knew what is needed for a 110 stroker motor?have a1974 ct70 that needs to have the case replaced,so i figure might as well look into a stroker crank.from what i read you need the 88cc big bore kit with cylinder and head and 52mm crank for 110cc.is there any thing else 1 might need? How well will the 3 speed auto work with this setup?or will i need to run a 4 speed with manual clutch?are wheelie bars gonna be mandatory(lol).want the bike to have some torque for the hills around here on and off road.any input greatly appreciated.
12 Volt CDI for the ST90Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 This is the mods section so i think this should be the right place to post this.
Does anyone have info on the above topic ? thanks Can a CT70 K0 headlight bucket and speedo be installed on a K1?Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 Is it possible to install the headlight bucket with speedometer from a CT70 K0 on a K1? :39:
The headlight mounting ears appear smaller on the K1? Has anyone ever done this or seen this type of mod? Thanks! ...Glenn :) 19mm carb with 88cc Racehead?Sunday, August 15th, 2010 I have decided to pursue a more stock appearance for my KO which already has a TB 88cc bore w/ race head kit. This means that I'd like to go back to stock bars and throttle but I now have to make a choice and have 2 questions:
1. Will a stock throttle assy properly control a 20mm carb? Some say it will not provide enough lift for my carb and others disagree. I've seen a lot of conficting info on this subject. 2. Would the $30 19mm carb provide adequate performance for an 88/RH motor with stock exhaust? If the 19 is good enough, I'd love to go back to internal petcock and stock look. I should mention that this bike is used for running errands around the neighborhood and must maintain 40 mph. If you've already been there, please share your knowledge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. extended swingarm or not….Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 i am doing a semi restore with fresh paint job and few new parts going to put a lifan 120cc in it also....my question is does anyone have the extended swingarm? and what are the perks to it does it make for a smoother ride? i am 6'2 240 not a small guy by no means i look like a gorilla humping a football on ct70........:21:
Kick Stand Weld or?Monday, August 2nd, 2010 Attachment 6768The problem with the Ct70 kickstands are pretty much common knowledge. In this picture I've added about 4" inches of wood just to get me an idea of how much needs to be added. (got a beefy front end and longer rear shocks) Also there's a bend in the stand that needs straightening out. I'm not interested in those center stands so I figure I'll go to a weld shop and have em add the 4inches. What I need is like a strong longer alloy kickstand. Anyone who's solved their stand issue...I'd like to hear it. plus do I get it migged or tigged cause I know that acetylene welds arent strong enough for this purpose?:39::16:Attachment 6768
goofed up the pic post again! FrankenmotorFriday, July 30th, 2010 Just found this forum, i like it! I have a 1972 SL70 motor, looking to convert to newer CDI. I have an 06 CRF70 crank, stator, cylinder, head and other goodies. My question is, will the 4 speed main and countershafts fit into a new case, or do i have to modify my old case to fit the CDI stator backplate (notching)? Any ideas?
Big Bore KitWednesday, July 28th, 2010 Hi I'm new to this site and was wondering if anybody can help me out on choosing a big bore kit, for my 1970 Honda CT70? I'm looking for a good kit, also would you recommend a complete kit with carb and new head? Thanks for any information that you could give me. Dave-396
