Question is- Does anybody do this or not?

Current Street Licensed CT70 Owners in Ohio….

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010
Hello all! I am very new to this site (5 minutes thus far) and really would like to get a 1970-74 CT70 and use it one the road. I live in Ohio and would like to know what you guys did or what needs to be done to make one of these legal on the roads. I really would like a 1970-1971 CT70 however they dont come with turn signals and it says in Ohio's Law that anything manufactured after 1968 is required to have these. Any help would be VERY appreciated. Thanks and God Bless.

Disc brakes with stock forks and hubs

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
Hi guys

Was wondering if anyone had any details on how to install front disc brakes onto stock ct70/chaly forks and hubs?

I've seen alot of thailand bikes running this setup but cant seem to find on this forum on anywhere on the net on how they do it properly.

I understand that an adaptor needs to be made for the front forks and hub to adapt the disc and caliper but cant find any detailed images or info on how to do so.

Anyone know more about this or have some good pictures which shows how its done?? Or maybe even a link to someone that might sell these adaptors??

KO Front Forks

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
I was reading up on rebuilding the front end today and noticed that in the Honda service manual that it mentioned wrapping the fork spring holders with electrical tape. My question is, wrap where? On the part below where the thread section is or on the thread section itself? I am assuming that the tape is to cushion metal to metal noise?

Low Budget Performance Upgrades

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
I have a 1973 Honda CT70. A few years ago, I over revved it and bent both valves. While I had it apart replacing the valves, I decided I would add a few upgrades to the head, including a bearing race cam and heavy duty valve springs. I also went with a thin copper head gasket (.36 mm thick) thinking that would help on compression ratio.

Now, after adding the new cam, I think the carburetor needs to be rejetted. I have adjusted the main jet all the way in, and it still is running way too lean. Since I put the larger cam in there, I was wondering if I would see much of a performance difference if I went with a 20mm carb, larger manifold, and after market air filter. Dratv has a kit for $80, that I am considering if this will make a noticable difference. Please give me your opinions.

cl70 ignition coil

Monday, August 30th, 2010
need some help,on my 1972 cl70 I found a grounded ignition coil blowing fuses,I purchased a replacement and it doesnt have the same wires coming out of the coil.original coil has a blue and a black along with the spark plug wire and the replacement only has a black along with the plug wire.can this be made to work.the points are mounted on the ignition coil inside the frame unlike the ct70 motors and the 2 coils on the stator plate are wired in series with each other.Im sure this is factory wiring and the diagram is the same.why did Honda make the ct ignition different than the cl,maybe because the lights is all I can figure.any input would be appreciated

Update on the KO Crash

Monday, August 30th, 2010
My wife is healing up and thinks in a couple of weeks she should be ready to ride. I think I was able to put her off to three weeks just to make sure her hand/wrist is mended.

Finally had time to tear down the front end yesterday afternoon.
Upper forks are trashed, bent two different ways and one tube with a dent which took some work to get one of the lowers and springs out. I found two lowers out in dad's junk box. Will break every down tonight and clean out the old grease. I need to order new bearings as they are rolling all over my garage floor.

Wish me luck. And any does or don'ts would be appreciated.
