I know Honda made a lot of original options for the bikes. fe. The Monkey R, red parts as a tankpad/red steering/... does anybody know which parts Honda did have for the Z50A K3/Z50J1?? cheers Installing swing arm bushings on CT70KOWednesday, December 30th, 2009 I am getting ready to reassemble my bike after Powder Coating.I had a lot of fun getting the bushings out of the swing arm.I tourched, grinded, chiseled, sawed, ect. to get the old ones out.I did not have much left of the bushings when I was done.I have two NOS bushings to install.I am going to have my local honda dealer press them in for me.My question is whether or not there should be any kind of spacer between the bushings. There is a slight ridge inside that looks like the bushing should stop behind. It does not look like I have caused any damage to the swing arm except the ridge is very slight and I hope I did not wear it down in the removal process.I assume the Honda dealer will know how far to press it in.If any one has any experience or advise please let me know.:102:
Thank you, Dave 1974 XL70 was this street legal?Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009 Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew if the 1974 xl70 was street legal back in the day? Is there a steet legal federal label or code on them or something? Does the CT70 have a federal label on it? I'm in the process of making mine street legal, but I got a letter back from the state saying I couldn't register it unless it has a federal label that states it is for road use. Somewhere around the seat I guess. mine doesn't have it, but neither do I think any of the CT70s and I have my 70 registered. Thanks in advance! Jimmy Did classictrails.com become mytrailbuddy.com?Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 Does anyone know if classictrails.com became Trail Buddy Inc. - Home ? They have the stock mini trail type handlebars available w/o the lever perches. classictrails.com was the only place I have ever seen these before. Very desireable to me because I am going to run an XR80 throttle, cable, carb, and CR125 levers on my '70 CT70 KO.
Has anyone ordered from here?Saturday, December 12th, 2009 Was wondering if anyone has any experience with SHS Powersports? I was thinking about ordering a few items for my '70 CT70. Good or bad input would be appreciated. Thanks!
Shop ManualSunday, November 29th, 2009 Does anyone know where I can find a Shop Manual for my 1072 CT-70 K1?
Thanks, Tim Ordering from CHPWednesday, November 25th, 2009 I have a number of items I want to order from CHP parts. (CHP Race products, Classic Honda USA, Honda CT70, Z50, Pit Bikes, Monkey Bike, XR50, CRF50, NSR50, XR70, CRF70, Pit Bikes, Honda Minitrails, XR100 and NOS, Kitaco, Takegawa Parts and services.)
What I did before ordering, is run down to my local Honda dealer and find out pricing on some of the same items I want to order. There were multiple parts that were twice the price of what CHP is selling them for. Some of these are critical parts, such as wheel bearings, and sprockets. My question is, are the parts from the Honda dealer that much better, or are they just making a killing on them? Bearings, for example, at chp are about 20 bucks per set of 4. Honda dealer wanted $11.99 per bearing. Wheel bearings are not something I would want to "cheap out" on, so before I go ordering from CHP, I thought I'd try to get some feedback on the quality of the parts from CHP. Anyone? ITS, new wrinkle!Wednesday, November 25th, 2009 I know this topic has been beat to death, but here's a new wrinkle just discovered this week. This is my third bike to get titled through ITS, this one is a 1970 HKO. I sent in all the paperwork and fees (to include plates). Received new (Maine) plates and a registration disclosure from the state of Maine, no title. It just so happens that Maine is a "no title" state, meaning, the vehicle if older than 15 years doesn't need a title. So, for those of us titling any bikes over 15 years, make sure you indicate that you need a "letter of verification" from the DMV in Maine stating the fact that they do not require a title so that you may then take that to your local DMV and will most likely accept for title in your state.
Once again, I'm the guinea (sp) pig, so learn from me. FWIW Jamie Honda seat logoFriday, November 13th, 2009 Hi I sell the stencils that make the logo on the back of the motor cycle seats.
