Here is the page from the manual regarding the question I posed yesterday about wrapped tape around the upper spring holder.
Question is- Does anybody do this or not?

KO Front Forks

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
I was reading up on rebuilding the front end today and noticed that in the Honda service manual that it mentioned wrapping the fork spring holders with electrical tape. My question is, wrap where? On the part below where the thread section is or on the thread section itself? I am assuming that the tape is to cushion metal to metal noise?

cl70 ignition coil

Monday, August 30th, 2010
need some help,on my 1972 cl70 I found a grounded ignition coil blowing fuses,I purchased a replacement and it doesnt have the same wires coming out of the coil.original coil has a blue and a black along with the spark plug wire and the replacement only has a black along with the plug wire.can this be made to work.the points are mounted on the ignition coil inside the frame unlike the ct70 motors and the 2 coils on the stator plate are wired in series with each other.Im sure this is factory wiring and the diagram is the same.why did Honda make the ct ignition different than the cl,maybe because the lights is all I can figure.any input would be appreciated

Flywheel nut size

Sunday, August 29th, 2010
Can someone confirm if the 1970 ct70h uses a 10x1.5 or 10x1.0 nut? I need to get a die to clean up the crank and want to make sure I get the correct one. The original nut is junk so I can't go by that.

I guess there is a third choice of 10x1.25

Speedometer not working

Saturday, August 28th, 2010
So I have been rebuilding my 1970 CT70H for a couple months now and am down to the last few things. I put a new speedo cable on and when you roll forward about a foot it completely maxes the speedo out? Well I was working on a bunch of other stuff at the time and was going to mess with it later, well I forgot about it and rode it and it twisted the cable until it broke. So I have a new cable but I need to figure out whatÂ’s going on so I don't break another one!

Thanks

Fuel Filter and Battery question

Saturday, August 28th, 2010
I started getting into my 1969 CT70 the last couple of days and I had a couple of questions. I noticed that these bikes don't come with an inline fuel filter. Is this something that I should add? I cleaned out the gas tanked, which was very clean to begin with. Both original fuel lines are in excellent condition as well. I don't really want to mess with them if I don't have to, but if the fuel filter is recommended I would add it. I would need two, I believe, one for each line? Also, I ordered a replacement battery a couple years ago and never started the project until now. The electrolytes are low so I am going to add distilled water, but I'm not sure how to charge these batteries. I have a standard 6V/12V charger, but there is no place to put the clamps like you would a battery with terminals. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
